SORRENTO stalwart and MPNFL legend Guy Stringer played a record-breaking 346th senior match at David McFarlane Oval on Saturday.
The 39-year-old defender put on an impressive display as Sorrento dismantled the Frankston Bombers by 100 points, even sneaking forward late in the match to snare a goal to help mark the milestone.
Sorrento coach Nick Claringbold was rapt to be a part of the occasion and emphasised how special it was for both the club and Stringer.
The seniors and reserves formed a guard of honour for the champion utility as he ran onto the Sorrento home deck.
"It was great for some of the younger guys who have grown up watching Guy and now had the chance to play alongside him on such a special occasion," Claringbold said.
After the game, Stringer was chaired off by teammates and celebrated the evening with past and present players.
Stringer also played for Hastings, Edithvale-Aspendale and Pines throughout his illustrious career, which started in 1989.
