Peninsula crossing supervisors flag interest in top award

NOMINEES from across the Mornington Peninsula are in the running for the 2012 Victorian school crossing supervisor of the year award.

They are Bob Barrett and Pauline Keast (Bentons Junior College), Geoff Blount (Kunyung Primary School), Rod Brown (Mt Martha Primary School), Carole Dellar (Somers Primary School), Nancy Gorrie (Western Port Secondary College), Sue Hennessey (Mornington Park Primary School), Keith Humphreys (The Peninsula School), Terry Lovekin (Eastbourne Primary School), Margaret Ormond (Mornington Primary School) and Faye Cox (Rye Primary School).

Some of the nominees are pictured at a recent shire function to acknowledge their achievement. The award is sponsored by School Crossings Victoria, a group of council representatives and interested parties which promotes safety and seeks uniformity of operation of children's crossings, training and equipment throughout the state. Overall and regional winners will be announced on July 13.
