Balnarring resident and international chart-topping artist Wally De Backer - better known as Gotye - joined a throng of peninsula-based musicians for a community cancer awareness benefit concert at Heritage tavern in Balnarring.
The event attracted a full house who flocked to the normally low-key venue to enjoy local musos in action on two stages.
Artists including Aaron Roberts, Boys from the Shed, Mama Sass, Brad Kennedy, Holycow, Tony Byrne, Tash Parker, Jam Roots, Ryan 'Lucky' Luckhurst, President Roots, Brooklyn's Finest and Cat Stevens tribute artist Ron Vincent donated their time.
"We were amazed the event was so well received and the goodwill overflowing," event organiser and Holycow band member Ree Liddell said.
"People were paying $300 for an autographed T-shirt [at the fund-raising auction].
"We raised more than $15,000 at a small venue. The vibe was amazing and the place was alive."
