NETBALLERS in Rosebud will soon have new courts and a home base at Olympic Park.
Rosebud Football Netball Club and the Rosebud Junior Netball Club have secured a $100,000 Bendigo Bank loan to build two netball courts at Olympic Park in Besgrove Street.
Mornington Peninsula Shire councillors David Gibb and Antonella Celi each contributed $5000 from their ward discretionary funds.
"We desperately need netball courts, so it will be wonderful to see them come to fruition," Rosebud Football Netball Club treasurer Pam Nicholls said.
The courts will accommodate training for the eight junior teams, who have never had their own home ground, as well as the three senior teams associated with the football club.
"It will be fantastic to have everyone together. It will be a huge advantage to the community," Nicholls said.
The club expects the courts will increase interest and membership at both clubs, which are raising funds to pay off the loan. Donations are also being sought from community organisations.
Plans for the courts have been approved and construction is expected to be completed next month.
