Paddlers off in pursuit

17 Feb, 2010 04:00 AM
Dozens of paddlers turned out for the inaugural Great Peninsula Paddle on Saturday to raise money for sporting and arts programs for the disadvantaged. The event was devised by Virginia Cable of the Sorrento Couta Boat Club and was run by Reclink and Portsea Surf Life Saving Club. Competitors paddled the 3.6 kilometres between Portsea and Sorrento piers. Reclink runs other activities on the peninsula, including the Western Port Warriors football team based at Crib Point.
