ON the face of it, the Peninsula Waves were given a Holden Cruze Cup State Netball Championship lesson by Monash University Central last week.
But head coach Robynn Pym reckons it's all part of the toughening up process for her young group.
Monash won 64-48, with the Waves showing their spirit to win the last quarter.
Pym said Karen Bailey had been a major difference.
"She is a pretty difficult player to match up against. We didn't have Rachael Forbes with us because she is still away.
"But I was pretty happy with the way we fought it out. We are a young group and we are improving.
"Yeah, we had a loss but we won the last quarter 15-5." To complete a disappointing evening, the division 1 side lost 55-45 and the under-19 group went down 52-34.
