TYABB booked itself a date with Rye in the A grade netball grand final with a 46-33 win over Edithvale-Aspendale.
A depleted Edi-Asp was outstanding early, racing to a nine-goal lead, but Tyabb's overall height advantage took a toll on its opponent.
Tyabb's Hose and Beswick seemed out of sorts early, but by sheer persistence overcame their opposing mid-fielders, while Moloney and Donkin offered plucky resistance for Edi-Asp.
In the B grade preliminary final, Rye overcame a tardy start to secure a grand final berth with a 52-36 win over Tyabb.
Rye's Assunta Galbraith cut loose in the second quarter with 13 goals from 16 attempts and three rebounds, and put paid to Tyabb's chances. The best on court was shared between Rye's Gabrielle Bennett and Laura Dunn, who eclipsed the Tyabb goalers.
In the B grade grand final, undefeated Edi-Asp should overcome Rye's home court advantage to secure the title. Its mid-field should ensure sufficient supply to Mel Angliss and Mel Broekhoff, while Rye's Cullen and Galbraith will be deprived of similar opportunities.
In the A grade grand final, undefeated Rye has enjoyed tremendous run and carry from Bishop and McLaughlin throughout the season, and should create havoc in the final game.
Cox, fresh from her best-on-court in the second semi, will again prove a very swift opponent for Hose, while Krieger will personally deliver plenty of ball to the Rye goalers.
Much rests on the shoulders of 16-year-old Emma White, but she has shown composure under pressure many times, and should carry the day.
Apart from the advantage of a week's rest, and an opportunity to view their opponents in the preliminary, Rye will enjoy the game being played at home.
