RYE netballers completed their home and away season with a 54-32 win over Dromana to clinch the minor premiership undefeated.
This week, Rye plays Tyabb at Rye in the second semi-final, the winner going through to the grand final.
Tyabb defeated Red Hill 65-24, Crib Point beat Hastings 64-23, Edi-Asp claimed its finals berth with a 46-23 win over Pearcedale, and Rosebud easily disposed of Sorrento 78-17.
Rosebud's late-season form surge suggests it will overcome Edi-Asp in the first semi-final and move into the preliminary final.
The B grade finalists are Pearcedale, Tyabb, Rye and the undefeated Edi-Asp, which has not been seriously challenged at all and should have little trouble with Rye this week, securing a spot in the grand final.
Despite finishing fourth, Pearcedale has the home court advantage in the first semi-final and should take the early lead against Tyabb and hold it.
Having seen every team play this season, my Nepean all-star team would comprise Sarah Hose (Tyabb) as captain, Laura Wilson (Crib Point) vice-captain, Tracy Snooks (Rosebud), Trish McLachlan, Emma White and Ellen Millar (Rye) and Sam Boyington (Sorrento).
