Red Hill shot down by fired up Bombers

30 Jun, 2010 12:00 AM
LAST weekend's round of netball saw third-placed Edithvale-Aspendale defeat fourth-placed Rosebud 43-29, with Ashlee Farrelly prominent for the Buds.

Red Hill was unable to sustain its recent excellent form and lost to Frankston Bombers, 55-19, while Dromana defeated Sorrento 66-20, with Shallon Dae Clarke spearheading the victors.

Pearcedale was fired up by Renee Drummond in the final quarter, but fell short of Tyabb 33-30 after drawing level at 28-all with five minutes to play.

With the Millar sisters in control, Rye defeated Hastings 77-16, and should continue its good form next week against Sorrento.

Tyabb should slowly gather momentum to overcome Hastings, and Rosebud will host Red Hill and should win with the court advantage.

Dromana journeys to play the Frankston Bombers, not without a chance, but the home court advantage should be sufficient for Frankston.

Edi-Asp will not underestimate Crib Point, and should take the points. There are seven rounds remaining.

A grade ladder: Rye 44, Tyabb 40, Edi-Asp 36, Rosebud 34, Dromana 28.

B grade ladder: Edi-Asp 44, Rye 40, Tyabb 36, Bombers 28, Pearcedale 28.
