A NEW weekly fitness class for people with disabilities has started in Frankston.
The class at Monash University in McMahons Road focuses on low-impact exercises, cardio workouts and relaxation techniques.
Each group has a maximum of 15 participants and costs $6, including light refreshments at the end of the class.
There is a session on Monday at 10.45am and a Wednesday class will begin soon.
The classes are backed by Leisure Link Up, a state-funded organisation that runs a range of all-abilities sports and social events for people with a disability.
Also planned is an all-abilities indoor cricket competition, which will run on Tuesday evenings from October 6 at Frankston Indoor Sports centre, 81 Hartnett Drive, Seaford. Coaches and umpires are included in the cost of $7 a game and participants will be eligible to try out for an all-abilities carnival and selection in the Victorian disability team.
Leisure Link Up activities include lawn bowls in Dromana, martial arts in Seaford, swimming in Frankston and bocce in Rosebud. For details, call Brett Bean on 9783 3855.
