LAST Saturday's swell and strong offshore winds combined to create challenging waves on the Mornington Peninsula's ocean beaches.
Balnarring surfer Adam Morris took up the challenge at Gunnamatta, making the most of a fast-breaking lefthander.
The 20yearold has been surfing for 12 years and has already picked up a few well-known industry brands as sponsors.
He is in the last year of competing in the pro junior series - which wraps up at Bells Beach at the end of this month - and recently came second in the super heat division at the Victorian teams titles.
While Morris is keen to improve his contest results, he is equally committed to time spent "free-surfing" around the peninsula's breaks.
"I like contests and enjoy the competition with friends, but I love free-surfing. There is a lot more freedom and flexibility and there are so many waves around the peninsula.
"I'm keen to give them all a good crack," Morris said.
Photographer Robbie Warden said Morris was among a group of peninsula surfers with the ability to "make something out of surfing".
"I love watching their surfing, and finding epic waves, of course."
When not surfing, Morris studies physical education at Monash University and works at a bottleshop.
His aspirations include "making the most out of everything and enjoying time with friends and family".
