THE Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League won its senior and under-18 VCFL championships games on Saturday.
The MPNFL will now qualify to play in the VCFL division 1 country championships next season.
Cranbourne star and former Frankston Dolphin Justin Berry was the highlight in attack for the MPNFL with seven majors in the 22.12 (144) to 14.11 (95) win over the Hampden Football League. The MPNFL got away to a flyer with VCFL medallist and Pearcedale assistant coach Ricky Morris dominating, along with Chelsea midfielder Nigel Carmody.
Hastings coach Glenn Michie was solid in attack with four goals at centre half-forward and the elusive Seaford three-time premiership player Pat Cadd also finished with four majors.
Red Hill's Matt Burns was a good player all afternoon with two goals and Berwick's Dale Robinson was a standout in the 49-point victory.
Pakenham premiership player Jared Goldsack provided plenty of drive for the MPNFL Sharks, and Lions teammate Dean Blake also had the ball on a string.
In the under-18s, the young Sharks led by seven goals at half-time and finished almost 10 goals in front.
The Sharks slowed down in the last quarter, but still won 11.14(80) to 3.6 (24).
Rosebud's Jacob Barker, Edithvale's Brett O'Hanlon and Beaconsfield's Patrick Chinn each booted two goals for the winners. Karingal's Daniel Jones and Rye's Tom Baker were clearly among the best players on the ground.
Mornington's Hayden Cameron and Narre Warren's Jordan Roberts were also among the combined team's best, as were Narre Warren's Kieran Roberts and Bonbeach's Jackson Casey.
