MPNFL names teams of the year

TEAMS of the year for the Peninsula and Nepean divisions of the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League were announced at the MPNFL's medal count at Mornington Racing Club last night (Monday). They are:

Peninsula Team of the Year

Backs: Michael Burke (Karingal), Luke Van Raay (Karingal), Andrew Withers (Langwarrin).

Half-backs: Lloyd Williams (Mt Eliza), Chris Paxino (Mornington, capt), Byron Barry (YCW).

Centres: Pat Cadd (Seaford), Luke Peel (Mt Eliza), Callan Dixon (Karingal).

Half-forwards: Chris Worner (Chelsea), Brett Bowden (Edi-Asp), David Hirst (Karingal).

Forwards: Grant Masterson (Mt Eliza), Brendon Lade (Karingal), Ben Tellis (YCW).

Ruck: Pat Poore (Edi-Asp).

Ruck-rover: Steven Roberts (YCW).

Rover: Daniel Wehner (Langwarrin).

Int: Tim Mannix (Edi-Asp), Damien McCormack (Seaford), Ben Poole (YCW), Dale Tedge (Pines).

Coach: Anthony Barry (Frankston YCW).

Most valuable player: Steven Roberts (Frankston YCW).

Nepean Team of the Year

Backs: Ben Sedgewick (Somerville), Adam Kirkwood (Rye), Tim McGrath (Tyabb).

Half-backs: Mick Agnello (Hastings), Rikki Johnston (Dromana), Troy Schwarze (Sorrento, capt).

Centres: John Alexander (Tyabb), Ben Holmes (Rye), Ryan Spooner (Rosebud).

Half-forwards: Marcus Dal Lago (Red Hill), Aaron Murray (Somerville), Nick Haynes (Frankston).

Forwards: Luke Herrington (Crib Point), Kerem Baskaya (Pearcedale), Steve Ryan (Rye).
