FRANKSTON Bombers continue to put fear into the top six teams in Nepean Division after winning again on Saturday, this time against Rye.
The Bombers, two-point winners, are just 2? games outside of the five.
It's mathematically possible for the Bombers to make the finals, however Rye, Tyabb and Rosebud would have to have the wheels completely fall off for Frankston to get into the mix.
The Bombers need to win all of their remaining games, the toughest being against Sorrento in round 17 at Greg Beck Oval. Playing Tyabb this week will be another season-defining match and Sorrento and Somerville will be glad to see Frankston finished off once and for all.
On Saturday, Rye had every chance to end Frankston's season, despite the fact that the Bombers controlled the game for most of the day, winning 10.12(72) to 11.4(70).
An undermanned Dromana pushed Rosebud to 18 points, although the Tigers never looked threatening, Rosebud controling the game for the entire 100 minutes.
Hastings bounced back from an embarrassing defeat last week to smash Pearcedale by 83 points, kicking 11 goals to two in the second half.
Sorrento led Tyabb by just one point at half-time but kicked six goals to one behind in the third quarter and ended the contest. The Yabbies booted just one goal in the second half. Red Hill did it again on Saturday, winning a close one against Crib Point.
