SQUASH
FORMER Dromana squash player Amelia Pittock has been selected to represent Australia in the Commonwealth Games at Delhi in October.
Pittock, 27, is the daughter of Mornington Peninsula Shire councillor Graham Pittock.
She has been playing squash since she was four and was coached as a youngster by Alan Minchington of Dromana with whom she still has regular contact.
These days she lives in New York with her Australian partner, 1991 world squash champion Rodney Martin, and makes a living coaching.
Squash is increasing in popularity in the US and Pittock competes in squash tournaments along the east coast.
At present her world rating is 26. Pittock returned home last month to compete in the Victorian and NSW championships, coming second in both.
