SOUTH-east Melbourne school athletes helped take Victoria to third place overall at the Australian All Schools track and field championships in Brisbane earlier this month.
The Victorians, who brought home numerous medals, finished behind Queensland and winning New South Wales.
Noble Park's Keith Rodrigo helped the under-18 boys team to a gold medal in the Swedish relay with Wesley Spargo, Matthew Bertacco and Deluca Lawson-Matthew.
In a Swedish relay, the first runner sprints 100metres, the second runs 200m, the third 300m and the final runner 400m.
Pakenham's Matthew De Bruin scored the best individual return among south-east athletes with gold in the under-16 boys 100m hurdles in 13.25seconds and gold in the 200m hurdles in 24.99. Rosebud's Nathan Brill also scored gold in the under-16 boys three-kilometre walk. He finished in 12:58.04minutes.
Frankston South's Jordyn McConchie took home two medals with a second in the under-14 girls long jump, flying 5.11m, and a third in the under-14 girls triple jump with a jump of 11m.
Ringwood's Danielle Shaw finished second in the under-14 girls 80m hurdles in 13seconds.
Mooroolbark's Stephanie George took second place in the under-16 girls 3km race walk while javelin throwers Alicia Maher (Carrum Downs) and Luke Cann (Langwarrin) taking silver medals in the under-16 girls and under-18 boys respectively.
Wheelers Hill resident Ellie Sanford helped the under-16 girls Swedish relay team to a silver medal and Scoresby's Spencer Browne played his role in the under-16 boys 100m relay team.
Rowville's Billy Allamby finished third in the under-16 boys three-kilometre race walk and Langwarrin's Michael Cann also scored a bronze medal in the under-15 boys triple jump.
Pakenham's Karlee Bailey took a bronze medal in the under-16 girls 100m relay and Sean Farnan of Glen Iris scored a bronze medal in the under-18 boys 100m relay.
