A POLICE helicopter found an 89-year-old woman missing from a nursing home at Safety Beach last Thursday.
Police said the woman went missing from the nursing home in Country Club Drive about 3pm.
An extensive search of the surrounding area was initially unsuccessful.
The police helicopter was called in and located the woman about 6pm in a heavily grassed drain near the rear of the nursing home.
She was carried out of the area and treated by ambulance officers for abrasions and exposure before being taken to Rosebud Hospital for observation.
She was later reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
