Testing the air

14 Oct, 2009 11:01 AM
MORNINGTON Peninsula Shire has started monitoring wind at three sites to establish the potential for electricity-generating turbines on the peninsula.

Anemometers to measure wind speed have been put at Hastings, Red Hill and Mt Martha.

If the monitoring reveals sufficient wind energy at any of the locations, the shire may install some small-scale wind-powered turbines to produce 'green electricity'. Details: 5950 1339.
