Mornington Peninsula Shire mayor Frank Martin and Rosebud Country Club Pro Am committee chairman Barry Thomas get some practice ahead of the February 13 event. A social golfer, Cr Martin said he was pleased to see the club continue its tradition of attracting some of the best names in professional golf to the region - the public can see Australian Open runner-up Scott Laycock and rising star Ashley Hall in action. Professionals will compete for $15,000 in prizemoney and the amateurs can take home prizes. A $5000 cash prize is also being offered to the first amateur and another $5000 to the first professional to score a hole-in-one on the par-3 13th - the first time amateur golfers can collect a cash prize of this size for an ace and not lose their amateur status. Details: 5986 1481.
