Police looking for owner of seized bike

24 Feb, 2010 12:00 AM
POLICE are looking for the owner of this motorbike they suspect was stolen from the Mornington Peninsula after intercepting it in Frankston on Saturday, February 13.

The 26-year-old Frankston man riding the unregistered bike claimed that he was not the owner and was just taking it for a ride.

The 2002 KTM65SX was seized under Frankston Council's local law, the so-called monkey bike law that can cost riders up to $1700 in fines and fees and the prospect of having the bike crushed.

Anyone with information can call Senior Constable Jamie Aitken at Frankston police on 97845555 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
