Murder charge after woman stabbed at home

21 Apr, 2010 04:00 AM
POLICE are investigating two stabbings last Saturday, including the death of a Langwarrin woman.

Ronald Keith Haymann, 57, of Langwarrin, was charged with murder following a fatal stabbing early Saturday. The woman, in her early 50s, was found dead in a Langwarrin home about 6.30am.

Haymann, who handed himself in to Frankston police, was remanded in custody and will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

In another incident, a man, 40, was taken to hospital by air ambulance after being stabbed in the upper body in his Genista Street home in Frankston South. A police spokeswoman said the stabbing followed an altercation with two men who entered the house. The pair fled in a car about 4.30am. A shot was reportedly fired during the incident but it appeared nobody was injured by the weapon, the spokeswoman said.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
