Industry experts to help musos

FREEZACENTRAL is running a free music industry workshop at Peninsula Community Theatre, Wilsons Road, Mornington, from 5.45-8.30pm on Tuesday, September 7.

Topics at the event for 15 to 25 year olds will include performance, technical production, event management, music business, marketing and publicity.

Musicians, tutors and mentors will include Michael Crafter, the lead singer with Confession; Skipping Girl Vinegar's Mark Lang; independent producer Jimi Maroudas, who has worked with Eskimo Joe; Annie Tetzlaff of Soundwave Festival & Touring; Roadrunner Records marketing director Hayley Wilson and Michael Panetta of Melodic Music.

Attendees are eligible to apply to the FReeZACentral mentoring program under which more than 50 young people each year are paired with music industry mentors and help organise a tour and CD release.
