Horses for courses at Boneo Park

25 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
BONEO Park Equestrian Festival starts tomorrow, drawing some of the best riders from around the country as they compete for a place in this year's Olympic team.

The competition is one of the last chances for riders to gain a qualifying score for the London Olympics.

As well as the elite competition, there will be young horse classes and a novice and advanced championship for developing horses and riders.

Featuring an international dressage competition, show jumping, stallion parade, sculpture exhibition and pony rides, the festival has something for all ages to enjoy.

Dressage enthusiasts can enjoy a Saturday afternoon masterclass with one of the world's top trainers, German Rudolf Zeilinger, who has coached international teams to the Olympics and trained world champion horses.

The festival runs from Thursday to Sunday at Boneo Park Equestrian Centre. General admission tickets are $20 and are available at the gate. Tickets for the masterclass must be pre-purchased.
