HORSE people from throughout the south-east might find a bargain or make a few dollars at Moorooduc Saddle Club's annual horse gear sale next month.
Vice-president Tanya Patterson says it's one of the club's main fund-raisers and helps keep the grounds in Moorooduc in good condition. "We have two dressage arenas [menages], clubrooms and a fenced four-hectare area for cross-country riding and there's always something that needs to be done," she said.
Buyers and sellers will trot along to Derril Road, just north of the Moorooduc Polocrosse Club's park, which the two groups once shared.
"Items on sale will include saddlery, rugs, clothing, books and other things horsey," Ms Patterson said.
There will be a sausage sizzle, hot and cold drinks, and stalls cost $20.
Ms Patterson is a recent convert to horseriding and joined the club five years ago. She said Moorooduc was a family club, catering to all levels of riding and had about 70 members. Activities included lessons, dressage and jumping, group trail rides each month and an annual navigation ride - orienteering on a horse following cryptic clues.
