FLINDERS teenage surfing sensation Georgia Fish continues her march toward the women's pro circuit after taking out the junior and open divisions of competition at Gunnamatta.
The Peninsula Surfriders Club-run event was held in perfect conditions with the clean 1.5-metre (5ft) waves across three banks, setting the scene for some standout performances.
Liam Jolly took out the open men's event, his big backhand re-entries helping him chalk up his first win of the season. Michael Antonie and Michael Barber were standouts in the junior boys section.
Fish, who is finishing year 12 at Toorak College, will embark on the ASP women's world qualifying series next year which, if she continues to perform, could lead her to the ASP women's world tour and the big time.
She will travel to Lennox Head on the north coast of NSW next month to undergo intense training at the high-performance camp.
Fish's home break is Cyrils off Flinders and she rides a Trigger Brothers board shaped by Simon Forward.
Many in the competition scene on the peninsula are hailing her as the area's best export in years but the 17-year-old veteran of the Australian junior circuit keeps herself grounded with her studies, close friends and family.
The surfriders club have three more rounds planned for Gunnamatta over the coming month on Saturdays, April 17 and 24 and May 8.
While not competing, will be keeping a close eye on her future competitors at the Easter Classic at Bells Beach this weekend.
