Environment Day

'HOPE in Action' is the theme of World Environment Day festivities from 9am-3pm on Friday, June 5 in the Lady Nelson Room, Hastings Marina. There will be a range of speakers and musicians and lunch will be provided. Entry is free. Details: 59501686.

Yachties' big ball

MORNINGTON Peninsula yacht clubs have banded together to present the Big Band Ball on Saturday night at Morning Star Estate in Mt Eliza. The Baker Boys band will play until late and dancers from So You Think You Can Dance Australia will perform and teach steps. Tickets are $120 and include meal and drinks. Tea for a cause

Joint fund-raiser

CITY of Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Shire are joining forces to host a mayoral fund-raising ball, with proceeds going to CFA brigades in the two neighbouring municipalities. The ball is on Saturday, June 27 at Mornington Racing Club in Racecourse Road. Tickets cost $90 and can be obtained from Frankston Visitor Information Centre on the foreshore, by calling 1300322842 or online at www.visitfrankston.com
