Clinical school opens at hospital

10 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
A CLINICAL school is the latest addition to Frankston Hospital.

Construction is under way on the $1.8 million Peninsula Clinical School, a teaching centre for Peninsula Health and Monash University staff and students.

Peninsula Health chairman Barry Nicholls said the building was an extension of the hospital's academic centre and would have tutorial rooms and study areas.

Professor Steve Wesselingh, Monash University's dean of medicine, nursing and health sciences, said the school would cater for an increasing number of student doctors, graduate nurses and practising interns in the region.
