Bobcat theft a cruel blow for tradie

03 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
THIEVES have delivered a kick in the guts to a Frankston contractor who had his truck and bobcat stolen from outside his mate's place in Mt Eliza while he was away working.

Mike Waixel's 1985 white Isuzu tip truck and bobcat were stolen from 343 Canadian Bay Road, Mt Eliza, about noon on Monday.

Mr Waixel, a member of Mt Eliza CFA, has cancer and is the sole income earner in his family. He let his insurance policy lapse in November because he was doing a stint working away where he didn't need his own equipment.

The truck was found in Langwarrin yesterday without the bobcat.

"The bobcat is the money earner," Mr Waixel said.

Police are looking for an old white Ford Falcon and two men. One is described as being in his 30s and 193 centimetres. He had a short brown mohawk hairstyle and was wearing a light-coloured T-shirt and long fawn pants. The other man was only described as having dark hair.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
