Art for a hearty cause

BALNARRING Bowls and Social Club will soon have a defibrillator, thanks to a fund-raising art show held this month.

The club's committee of management chairman Charlie Burgess said the art exhibition brought the artistic efforts of local artists to the attention of peninsula residents and visitors.

"We raised more than $1000 and had over 100 entries," Mr Burgess said.

The defibrillator fund-raiser was supported by the 'Defib your Club for Life" program, which aims to provide public access defibrillators across Victoria to help reduce the number of preventable cardiac deaths.
