HIDING is no problem, it's the seeking part that can take time in the latest maze grown and groomed at Arthurs Seat.
The annual maize maze at the Enchanted Maze Garden opened on Saturday and takes its theme from the 1989 movie Field of Dreams.
A 2.5-hectare field of 100,000 maize plants, GPS technology and secateurs combined to prepare the maze which takes the form of a carnival, complete with a Ferris wheel, big tops, roller coasters and balloons. It is a ground-level puzzle that can only be seen properly from the air.
Previous mazes have included mermaids, wizards, butterflies, clowns and dinosaurs carved into a field of corn planted in late November.
The maize maze is open at the Enchanted Maze Garden, 55 Purves Road, Arthurs Seat, until Sunday, May 2, with carnival-themed children's activities over the Easter school holidays. Details: 59818449.
